The second site at Avonmouth

Posted on August 28, 2022
Bristol

The second site at Avonmouth is also being developed as a Special Project Vehicle (W4B Bristol Ltd).  It will house a 50 MW liquid biomass power station and has an existing pipeline from Bristol Port that will supply oil directly into the storage tanks on the site.  The planning process is well advanced.  While the Bristol City Council planning department recommended approval of the application and the Council’s legal advisors stated there were no reasons for refusal, the Planning Committee determined to challenge the current legislation which states that issues regarding sources of fuel and sustainability issues are not material planning issues.  This matter is being resolved via an appeal by W4B Bristol Ltd.
